National Careers Week 2024 4th – 9th March | [email protected]

National Careers Service

The National Careers Service provides free, personalised, impartial information, advice and guidance on careers, skills and the labour market, across England, to anyone over the age of 13. Our website provides a range of practical advice, tools and other useful information to help you to think about your future and understand all of your choices before taking your next step.

Get the Jump

The ‘Get the Jump’ Skills for Life campaign page on the National Careers Service website can help young people aged 14-19 to understand their education and training choices, how they compare and where they can lead.

Young people can see all the choices available to them in one place – including T Levels, Apprenticeships, Traineeships and Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs), with information about what each involves, what subjects are available, and real life stories from students.

Review Your Skills

Not everyone knows exactly which career they want to pursue, and that’s fine. If you need help to figure out which careers might suit you, our skills assessment tool can help you:

  • find out what interests and motivates you
  • identify your skills
  • find out what you could do with the skills you have

Explore Careers

Have you ever wondered what a typical day looks like for a Climate Scientist, or how to become an App Developer? Our job profiles tell you everything you need to know about a whole host of careers, from expected salary, to key responsibilities and everything in between.

Find A Course
