The Science Museum and Technicians: We Make the Difference have teamed together with technicians to show you the crucial, exciting roles technicians play right across society – and the different paths you can take to join them!
Browse over 100 roles on the Technicians: We Make the Difference website or experience first-hand what it’s like to be a technician in creative arts, health, renewable energy, manufacturing and more at the Technicians Gallery at the Science Museum.
The Technicians Gallery at the Science Museum host regular workshops with technicians from partner organisations so you can experience what it’s like to do their job through hands-on activities and Q&A sessions. It’s completely free, your teacher can book a workshop as part of a school trip or you can drop in during the holidays with friends and family.

At 16, you could choose to do A-levels, T-Levels, an apprenticeship or you could take up part-time learning whilst working or volunteering. Many employers offer training programmes such as T-levels and apprenticeships which will enable you to learn while you earn, and gain valuable experience in an industry you enjoy.
